How important do you think art education is for our youth?
Art education develops self-esteem, appreciation of the work of others, self-expression, cooperation with others, and critical thinking skills, skills vital to the success of our future leaders --- our children.

Kala Koa gives our students a chance to shine and let their art and voice be heard. Instructors Gerald Lucena and Miho Morinoue along with guest artist Andrea Lindborg, Lindsay Lander, Binti Bailey, Sharon Olson, Tonya Bautista and students from Holualoa Elementary School and DMAC's After School Programs, have worked together to actively examine self, family, community and our environment through the process of art making.

There will be student presentations, a casual award ceremony, original music by the participating students of March Madness, and a silent auction benefiting DMAC's youth programs on Friday, April 13, from 6-8pm. Those who come are encouraged to practice self expression by dressing up as your favorite animal and bringing a dish.

Admission is free!

Mahalo nui loa to the Holualoa Elementary School teaching staff for making the continuation of our in-school programs possible.
